Jan. 6th, 2007 07:27 pm WW items for sale

My mother-in-law passed away recently, and while we were going through her things, I came across several Weight Watchers items. I don't need them, but it seemed a shame to just throw them away, so I thought I would try to pass them on. None of this is from the newest program, but it is all in good shape and the books especially are filled with useful information. Five items and photos behind the (fake) cut.

Jan. 4th, 2007 12:23 pm NEW YEAR = NEW YOU!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Does everyone have their goals for 2007???
If not... let me help you reach them!
I am now a founding coach for Million Dollar Body. If you know me, you've seen my dramatic weight loss... if you don't, well, feel free to ask me about it.
I will be more than happy to be your personal coach to help guide you no matter what exercise/diet program you are doing. If you have interest in trying any of Beachbody's programs (P90, P90X, Slim in 6, Turbo Jam... and so many more...) then let me know! I now have an online store (or at least, I should by the end of the day today if they finish setting up the website) where these can be purchased... and I can help you pick out one that will work best for you. Also, if you need support, I know I did, you can join the MDB Club... it has many tools to guide you in your weight loss including trainer chats, a diet/nutrition guide (which will even print you a grocery list), meal plans, tools to figure out how many calories you should be taking in... and so much more! What's even better... there is a chance to win CASH PRIZES! I've highlighted in red the part of the below article that talks about this. Three people I know have already won a daily prize... and I submitted my success story to win the even bigger prize!
So, please visit my page, read my story about my journey with weight loss, and let me know how I can help you!

Dec. 7th, 2006 04:15 pm It's that time of year again...

... the time of year we review our year's past and look at where we succeeded and where we need some more work.
So, why don't we share with one another???

What were some of your successes???
Where could you improve???
What are your resolutions/goals for 2007???

Also, does anyone have any fun Holiday recipes to share???

I have REALLY BIG news, and I'll be able to actually share it with you in about a week and a half, I think :-)

So, I'll start out with my above questions:

What were some of your successes???
I've managed to keep up my drive and love for fitness and even made the life-changing decision to switch careers to a fitness related field. I've managed to get back down to 145 and added muscle tone. I've gotten a more flexible state of mind regarding fitness... meaning, I don't punish myself mentally for "messing up" because that's part of life... it happens... we recover.
I've earned my Turbo Kick certification (as of last week) and am now looking to find a place to teach. This coming weekend I get CPR certified... and then there is my BIG news... more on that later (oh, I'm so mean... but honestly, I am not allowed to share it quite yet).

Where could you improve???
Well, I still have trouble with food... I go through periods where I eat really well, and then there are periods where I eat really bad, and then there are periods where I don't eat enough. I need to figure out what my body needs and stick with it. I could also improve in the area of trying new things in the fitness and sports world. I could also improve my strength... I admit that I haven't strength trained like I would've liked to, hence, I still stuggle with push-ups and other resistance training.

What are your resolutions/goals for 2007???
Well, my main goal is to earn my personal training certification and switch careers! I also want to start teaching Turbo Kick and get lots of people pumped and excited about getting fit! I want to help people reach their goals (and I believe I will be doing all of these things... I just hope I'm good at it!). I also hope to increase my strength so that I can actually do a decent amount of "manly" push-ups, and burn a little more fat in my booty and buns. But, my main main main goal is to share my newfound love of fitness with others and help them change their lives!

Nov. 22nd, 2006 12:32 pm HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

6 Guilt-Free Choices at Thanksgiving
By Joe Wilkes

It's that time of year when it's not just the turkey that's getting stuffed. The Thanksgiving table is full of irresistible treats and sweets, but before you commit yourself to an afternoon of gluttony followed by the traditional unbuttoning of the pants in front of the TV, you might consider that there are a lot of options that are actually good for you. And, if you're the one planning the menu, you can include even more choices so that you can enjoy Thanksgiving without turning into a Macy's parade float.

8 Tips for Dealing with Holiday Pig-Outs
By Denis Faye

Face it, for many of us, the house of good nutrition has been built on a shaky foundation. As much as we've learned to eat right and enjoy healthier foods, decadence looms like a California tremor, waiting to ruin everything we've worked so hard for.

The Skinny on Being Beautiful
By Denis Faye

Spain struck a blow to the fashion world in September when Madrid's regional government banned overly skinny models from their annual fashion week. If you didn't have a Body Mass Index (BMI) over 18, you weren't allowed on the runway.

Nov. 5th, 2006 11:24 pm Whaaaaat?

HEY! I was wrong about there being no improvement to myself since my diet started. Even with all those teeny chocolates throwing themselves at me over Halloween I still managed to lose 7 pounds. Wunderbar!

Nov. 1st, 2006 10:20 am Curse you, Leftover Halloween Candy!

And I'm back again. Evidently the 'Eat Less and Exercise' diet that I had decided on back in the day was too complicated for my feeble brain SO I've started over. At least I didn't gain any weight in the attempt.

Now I've joined Weight Watcher's and adopted their 'Core' plan. The first two weeks have gone by without any noticeable improvement (mostly because I've been getting rid of non-core foods in my pantry by EATING them) but I am hopeful.

Here I go again!

Oct. 30th, 2006 05:08 pm Update

Alrighty peeps... time to update everyone on what you're doing! Have you reached any of your goals? What are your new goals??? Any awesome breakthroughs (either physically or mentally)??? Share your joys, sadness, successes and failures. Keeping track of all of this is what helps you along your journey! So, pipe up... how are you doing? What needs fixing? What is working? Spill your guts...

Here is my exciting news! In December I am going to become certified to teach Turbo Kick (www.turbokick.com)... it is the class that the videos called Turbo Jam (www.beachbody.com) are based on! It's a blast! It's a cardio kickboxing dance party! I can't wait to become certified! Cross your fingers that a gym is looking to hire me once I've got the certification! Other great news... I've decided that I WILL become a certified personal trainer by summer of next year. I want to share my new found joy of health and fitness with others and help them along the path from where I used to be as well.
I'm currently working on keeping up my cardio endurance by doing Turbo Jam videos, and I'm attacking my whole body (mostly lower half) by doing the Slim in 6 program! Once done with Slim in 6, I picked up the Slim Series program and will be rotating that with Turbo Kick, various Tony Horton workouts, and other random cardio.

Oh, and a reminder... I am a coach on MyBeachbody.com... that means I get 5 20% discount coupons per month. So, if you've been pondering ordering and of Beachbody.com's products, feel free to hit me up for a coupon!
